RACISM

I was reading around the internet about racism and one thing in particular caught my eye, 'Are Chinese Racist?' well in their defense at least when they're racist they won't hate the person, but honestly I've heard a chinese person tell me the worst things that I blush hearing. She said her father told her that all Malays are disgusting and lazy. But oddly, though because of this common wide perception of Malays being lazy that when a hardworking Malay comes along and a really lazy Chinese by the side, the Chinese by default gets more reckoning than the Malay, but that's how the world runs right? The other thing she told me was that while I was watching Barbershop there was a hot guy who plays the piano (the one who swoons Queen Latifah) and I said he was super hot then she said something to me really strong really smacked my face, she was put off by the skin. I think since then I don't feel like talking to her, I think I'm a bit disgusted by someone who would judge people by their skin. She knows I dislike white people but I don't hate them because of their skin, I hate them because they keep ranting about killing all Muslims like Ann Coulter. In my life, I have never not once disliked someone because of their skin colour and when faced with something so openly said as this it made me shaken to the core. Its true, Malay people do favour whiter skin than darker skin, actually Im olive skinned and proud of it I dont have to run around and get a tan! But Malay people are not like Chinese people where because someone has dark skin they're considered disgusting, for a Malay, dark skin is called 'hitam manis' which means dark and sweet. I also notice something about Malays when they do call someone black or blackie it isnt because like other races its an insult, its a nickname, nama timang-timangan, what parents would call their children something although would sound to others as insulting but actually because its cute. Ive always criticized Malay people for their lack of industry but now we will focus on the good things of the Malay. Their grace and slowness, their kindness and loving care. Their intelligence, embedded in many political leaders, and it seems most malays are subdued and gentle. Ever heard of a Malay mass murderer? I think not. Its been remarked in the written words of Anthony Burgess that the Malays are a lazy handsome race. which for the most part is true, but we are also diplomatic in our relations. Although some of us Malays are dark skinned if other races feel that we are disgusting then we don't need their company, as one author said it, if i wash and rub off my skin, it is still black. And that mirrors my sentiments exactly,

Yours with love,

Liyana Tassim

I don't understand how a man can turn into a woman? When women are being exploited left, right and centre. Ha Ri Su, I don't get it, women are manipulated, and life is harder being a woman than a man, not just that, the world is made for men the world is their oyster! Why you go being a woman then, gurl? Everything is prejudiced and biased for women right down to the marks we get from our essay papers, we are thought of as being less intelligent than men, I can understand how three Saudi women became men but I cannot understand how men can become women, it just doesn't click in my head, why would a man want a life of servitude and being called as emotionally handicapped all their lives? Women strive to be more rational and angry but why a man becoming a woman and more importantly, why are there more male transsexuals than female transsexuals?

I can't believe it. Its times like these that sometimes I just get swept off by a beautiful face and it drives me absolutely mad! I don't understand, first it was Dom of channel V then I was for awhile fixated with Dewa's leader Ahmad Dhani, then it was Kam Woo Seong for awhile, he's not even hot he's rather soft (its his eyes, exactly like my husbands') then I was crazy for this Indonesian/German actor Ari Wibowo when he had long hair then for awhile it was Josh Hartnett. But Dom and Bloom hit me hard in the head (oh I had a thing for Pierre Andre for awhile but that went away when one of my siblings pointed out he looked like a younger vers. of my father-yuck!) Why does Bloom drive me crazy? I want to have all his children, lick him in every crevice and I'm not ashamed to say it! Gosh, he makes me smile and my cheeks just flush but after awhile I swear I'd get so bored of him I wouldn't look at him twice. It's just that my husband has a long hair phase at the moment and the lovely stylish goatee just drives me absolutely bonkers. Oh Bloom, MARRY ME PLEASE I CANT GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

My dear death coaxes

My dear death,
I anticipate yours
Forever, Forever
I.

Blind me as it coaxes,
Universal of ghosts,
I pass by through the woods
Cares and the end tunnel
Of light.

Pain is friendly,
Close by it coaxes,
Afar it betrays,
Forgive it,
Forever, Forever.

The shelter
I am sheltered
From sun
From rain
With tundra air-conditioning

I do not touch,
The ground,
Or the trees,
They are far from me.

H

Heart is a word
not closed, not opened.
written as dust

The miser

Miserable as she was, the light
Could not penetrate her. They're words,
only words. Interspersed with tears. They become only
and only,
let go only

I think I know sometimes when I write is funny. Even I laugh reading my own posts, I can get unbelievably angry :) Anyway, a newer issue I would like to point out is the stateless position of illegitimate children in Brunei. What I don't understand is why these children are 'illegitimate'? and labelled as 'illegitimate'? And not only that why are these children labelled stateless? Why are we sacrificing children's rights over the mistakes of the parents, and since when are children, 'mistakes'? How is it that in modern Brunei the existence of children are labelled as mistakes instead of a blessing? This is so apparent within our society when a Bruneian sees images of naked children who are starving in some part of Africa because agriculture has stopped due to wars or periods of drought that they quickly say it is the women's fault for having so much children. What I would like to explain to these dumb Bruneians is that most of the societies in question are agricultural societies and within agricultural societies extensive labour is required for farming, the birth of children and having children is a resource of well trusted labour. Children are a source of wealth not poverty. Secondly, the earth is under pollution and the Holocene period is at its hottest - I keep mentioning this, the truth is it isn't the fault of these Africans that the world is polluted it is our fault, us the Bruneian people who emit a lot of carbon monoxide to the air because one person needs two cars! And some dumb Bruneian goes on and says eh sapa suruh nda blajar tinggi2 jadi farmer saja. Hey dumb Bruneian, if everyone goes to work in an office who will be the ones to grow food for you, you idiot, you think your peon skills can grow food kah you idiot? Because of our dumb hierarchy system we devalue farmers and their way of life but without these farmers we wouldn't be able to exist and do what we like, the surplus created for us allows us to pursue other things besides a subsistence economy. But I keep explaining do you think people get it? I don't think so.

I am trapped.
I am a muslim woman and I am trapped in a world that sees me because that I have to be "responsible" over what other people who are muslims do. Should I ask the white people to be "responsible" over what they did to us? I have nothing to do whatsoever with whatever hatred they are spewing out, I'm not a terrorist, I am a mother of 3 children and I'm minding my own world playing video games having fun with my friends going out every other night watching television reading books and journals doing my assignments and work minding my kids and my family and friends. How is it that I have to be blamed over other people's actions? I should not, bugger off okay you dumb red neck Islamophobes, I mean I don't go around accusing white people over their atrocities in Iraq why should I its none of my business just as it is none of their business to bugger into my life and accusing me of being a Muslim. Fuck off yeah, its disgusting that they label ALL muslims honestly, how dumb can you get?

what is it with these couples and their 'look! i wanna declare how in love i am!' makes me sick. Sorry but that shit is so cliche it makes me sick. Anyway on another note, more importantly, it is the hottest and wettest moment of the Holocene period, although global warming is just a natural response in reducing the numbers of the earth's population the thought of me drowning to death doesn't seem so appealing. Neither do I want to see my children drowned to death either. I suppose, the end of some parts of the world is near but then agan earth is a cyclical motion, whatever happens now in a thousand years after this, the earth will recuperate, it will survive. Some old people go about ranting, the end of the world is near!!! the end of the world is near!!!, i can assure you it'll be a few thousand more years before the end is near, we humans seem to make the mistake thinking that this is the dawn of the better life, what our predecessors suffered in physically we suffer mentally and emotionally. Honestly, do you really think the surge of homosexualism today is the mark of the end of the world? Lot's lot has been doing it in Sodom and Gomorrha it was around in Pompeii and it was around in Greece. Whatever horrible things that are happening today it was much more worst ages ago, I wonder why humans think that whatever bad is happening to us today is very very bad? Honestly, back in the 18th century children died like flies, infants were killed in a massive scale in one oprhanage out of the 1000 babies only 45 survived. What made you idiots think we have it bad? That period of peace that was in the Koran, it is now, right now because there has never been more peace and goodwill right now than it did hundreds and thousands of years ago.
